Quranforsoul in the United States - 2022

March 26, 2023

Quranforsoul foundation has turned its attention to this exceptionally rich country in terms of human diversity. Offer of the Holy Quran translated into English is the best tool to combat misunderstanding and Islamophobia. Indeed, there is no equal to the words of God for spreading love, peace, and mutual respect for all.

Muslims have been a religious minority in the United States for several centuries, but their numbers only began to grow significantly in the 1960s. According to the Pew Research Center, they currently represent about 1% of the American population, which amounts to approximately 3.45 million people. This makes Islam the third-largest religion in the United States, after Christianity and Judaism.

Muslims in the United States come from diverse ethnic and national backgrounds, with a majority coming from the Middle East, South Asia, and Africa. About one-third of American Muslims were born in the United States, while the other two-thirds are immigrants or descendants of immigrants.

In recent decades, American Muslims have experienced significant growth. According to a study conducted by the Pew Research Center in 2017, the Muslim population in the United States is expected to increase by 70% by 2050, making it the fastest-growing non-Christian religion. Muslims are present in all aspects of American society, including business, politics, culture, and media. Many American Muslims hold important positions in businesses, universities, and non-profit organizations.

However, American Muslims face challenges such as discrimination and Islamophobia. Since the September 11, 2001 attacks, they have been regularly stigmatized and subjected to mass surveillance and travel bans, and they must confront a hostile environment. Despite these challenges, they continue to contribute significantly to American society. They work to promote interfaith understanding and peace, and they are often at the forefront of defending civil rights and individual liberties.

This is why the Quranforsoul foundation has turned its attention to this exceptionally rich country in terms of human diversity. Certainly, the offer of the Holy Quran translated into English is not only necessary for American Muslims, but it is also the best tool to combat misunderstanding and Islamophobia. Indeed, there is no equal to the words of God for spreading love, peace, and mutual respect for all.

Thanks to our partnership with the American Muslim Association of North America in Miami, as well as the Aljumuah Foundation, 48,000 copies of the Holy Quran with English translation were made available to the American Muslim public in 2022. This achievement was made possible thanks to your generosity, and it is with your support that we can continue this extraordinary effort.
